Sweet Charichuelo (garcinia madruno) – A medium-sized tree related to mangosteen but native to Central and South America with edible, sweet fruits that resemble miniature lemons and taste a bit like lemony cotton candy. Fruit can be eaten fresh or used to make ice cream and juice. At full size Charichuelo generally will not exceed 20 feet in height and is densely branched with a nice straight trunk.
The growth rate of Sweet Charichuelo will vary greatly depending on soil type, sunlight, temperature and other factors. A few leaves are often trimmed prior to shipping to reduce transpiration and travel stress.
Also known as Rheedia Bentameriana, or lemon nerf balls. This fruit similar in flavor to a sweet, yet tart lemon, but has the texture of a mangosteen. The flesh of this fruit will melt in your mouth!
Each box contains approximately one pound of the fruit.
